Drone warfare: Russia: Many dead after Ukrainian drone attack

Nizhnekamsk. At least twelve people have been killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in Nizhnekamsk in the Russian republic of Tatarstan, according to authorities. 39 people were also injured, the government in the capital Kazan announced. Republic head Rustam Minnichanow officially declared a state of mourning in Tatarstan. The mayor of Nizhnekamsk, Radmir Belyaev, had previously reported a massive attack with Ukrainian drones on industrial facilities and civilian objects as well as fatalities.

Ukrainian media reported that one of the largest oil refineries had been attacked there. There was initially no official confirmation of this.

Kiev repeatedly attacks Russian oil industry facilities in its defensive struggle against Moscow's war of aggression. The goal is to deprive Moscow's war machine of important revenue, for example from energy exports. In recent Ukrainian counterattacks, an increasing number of civilians have also been killed.
