Delhi traffic likely to be hit as Pragati Maidan set to host Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav

Delhi motorists can anticipate disrupted traffic due to the upcoming Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav 2026, scheduled to commence at Pragati Maidan from August 12. The four-day event, expected to attract 20,000 to 25,000 participants, may generate significant congestion on surrounding roads. The Delhi Traffic Police have advised drivers to steer clear of Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg throughout the event, as no vehicle parking will be permitted in these areas between 7 am and 9 pm.

Violators may face towing and legal consequences, with impounded vehicles being transported to the Traffic Pit near Bhairon Mandir.

To circumvent the expected traffic snarl, the Delhi Traffic Police has recommended utilizing the Ring Road as an alternative route and avoiding affected roads whenever feasible. Moreover, commuters are encouraged to opt for public transportation to evade congestion. Those planning to travel to ISBTs, railway stations, or airports should meticulously plan their journeys, ensuring ample time is allocated for travel.

Drivers are urged to remain patient, abide by traffic regulations, and cooperate with law enforcement personnel at intersections.
