CP NewsAlert: Calgary officer shot in traffic stop; suspect later found dead

Calgary police report one of their officers was shot during a traffic stop this morning. The incident occurred just before noon, northwest of the city center, and left the officer in stable condition. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, engaging in a high-speed car chase which led him to carjack another vehicle before abandoning it when it became stuck.

He continued to flee on foot, eventually running through a nearby park, firing his weapon as he ran. Police pursued him on foot and by air, leading to the suspect's death in the river.
