Como sign defender Chalobah from Chelsea

Italian club Como has secured the services of Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in a £30m deal, according to the club's wire report. The 27-year-old Englishman has agreed to a five-year contract with his new side, guided by former team-mate Cesc Fabregas. Chelsea will receive £25.7m upfront, with a potential additional £5.1m contingent on further contract negotiations.

Chalobah, who boasts two senior England caps and narrowly missed out on the World Cup squad, departs after nearly two decades at his hometown club, having joined Chelsea as a youth player. Fabregas hailed the signing as "important" and "representative of our ambition," stating that Chalobah has the ability to elevate the team's standards.

The former Chelsea player expressed his excitement about joining Como, praising the club as "an ambitious, rising project" and emphasizing the special nature of working alongside Fabregas again. Over his time at Stamford Bridge, Chalobah amassed 151 appearances and claimed five trophies, including the FA Cup in 2018 and the Conference League in 2025, with loan stints at Ipswich, Huddersfield, Lorient, and Crystal Palace.
