Azmin calls Amirudin 'adinda', drawing attention in Selangor assembly

During today's Selangor assembly debate, Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali chose a softer approach towards the state government, catching the attention of the House. Instead of his usual harsh criticisms, Azmin addressed Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as "adinda" during the discussion on the Second Selangor Plan.

This friendly conclusion to his remarks surprised reporters and amused the assembly members. Amirudin Shari is Azmin's younger brother, while George from Sentosa assembly is his companion. Remaining calm is Azmin's principle, and he referred to Amanah (guiding principle) as his guiding light. Azmin urged Selangor to prosper and its people to thrive, emphasizing that united, they are the people of Selangor.

He criticized groups justifying kleptocracy and endorsed corruption through new fatwas, stating that this process is a mockery of the people and creates divisions within Malay unity. Azmin encouraged Amirudin not to be troubled and to continue his efforts in developing Selangor, emphasizing that they are not alone. Azmin's remarks were met with silence from reporters, who did not seek further clarification.
