Australia ends homicide probe after suspected ‘body’ turns out to be lifelike doll

Australian police have concluded a homicide investigation that began when two members of the public discovered a suitcase on the side of the road in a remote town. The contents of the suitcase were examined and found to be a lifelike doll, complete with clothing, hair, and a nose piercing, according to police. The doll also exhibited markings resembling bruises and grazes.

The investigation was initiated in Oallen, a town located approximately 200 kilometers southwest of Sydney. Police opted not to disturb the contents extensively due to potential adverse weather conditions. Superintendent Linda Bradbury emphasized that police prefer not to disrupt remains, especially when faced with challenging weather conditions, as was the case with the recent discovery.
