Ato Forson Opens New Military Facilities – Applauds Unique Devt Ltd

Minister of Finance and acting Minister of Defence, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, inaugurated new military facilities at Burma Camp last week, reaffirming the government's commitment to upgrading military infrastructure in Ghana. The projects include accommodation, office, and training facilities such as the Butler Barracks, Central Ordnance Depot Headquarters, the School of Ordnance, and facilities for the Ghana Armed Forces Central Band and Music School.

Dr. Forson emphasized that these installations reflect the administration's dedication to providing personnel with efficient living and working conditions, thus enhancing operational readiness of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). Unique Devt Ltd, the contractor for the project, was commended for its successful completion under challenging circumstances.

The Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Mensah-Larkai, highlighted the importance of military readiness, stating that training facilities are integral to fostering discipline, leadership, and camaraderie among military personnel. Brigadier General Jonas Wiafe, Director of Engineering Services, warned of sanctions for anyone damaging or altering the infrastructure and thanked the contractor for their efforts in overcoming obstacles to deliver the project on time.
