Anwar sues Tuan Ibrahim for defamation over ceramah remarks

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has initiated a defamation lawsuit against PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, following remarks he made at a party ceramah in June. Anwar's lawyers claim the statements made by Tuan Ibrahim were false and defamatory, stating that critics of ministers could potentially face police investigations.

Tuan Ibrahim made allegations of misappropriation, corruption, and abuse of power during the ceramah, which Anwar's legal team believes was a reference to the Prime Minister and his administration. The lawsuit seeks damages, an injunction against further publication and dissemination of the statements, as well as an order for their removal from Tuan Ibrahim's social media accounts and other platforms under his control. Anwar is also seeking interest, costs, and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.
