Anwar saman Tuan Ibrahim berkait kenyataan dalam ceramah didakwa fitnah

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim has filed a lawsuit for defamation against PAS Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, nearly two weeks after demanding an apology and withdrawal of a statement made during a party rally last June. According to Anwar's lawyer, SN Nair, the lawsuit was filed today at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur. The lawsuit stems from a statement allegedly made by Tuan Ibrahim during a PAS rally in Felda Jenderak Utara, Kuala Krau, Pahang, on June 14th, which Anwar claims is false and inflammatory.

He accuses individuals criticizing the minister of being liable for further police investigations. The Opposition Leader also touched upon perjury, fraud, and misuse of power, which, according to his lawyer, could be understood as referring to the Prime Minister and his administration. The statement was subsequently shared through a video recording and various social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube, aside from the relevant Opposition Leader's Facebook account.

Anwar seeks exemplary damages, punitive damages, and a precedent, in addition to an injunction to prevent the publication, reprint, or further dissemination of the statement deemed to be inflammatory. He also requests an order to remove the statement from Tuan Ibrahim's social media account and any other publications under his control, along with any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.
