After weeks of silence, schools come alive again on Tuesday

Following a lengthy vacation that commenced on June 25 and persisted for several weeks, schools will recommence operations on Tuesday, according to wire material. School administrators and supervisors will report back on Tuesday, while educators will return the following Sunday, August 16. Pupils are slated to re-enter their classrooms on Sunday, August 23.

Nevertheless, the education departments based in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif will deviate from this schedule. In these four districts, both male and female instructors will rejoin their schools on August 23. Nonetheless, the actual commencement of classes will occur with the return of male and female students to schools on August 30, marking the beginning of the new academic year post-vacation.

The anticipated start of the new academic year brings with it six holidays: two for National Day festivities, nine for the fall break, nine for the mid-year break, two for Founding Day, sixteen days of Eid Al-Fitr, and an additional sixteen days for Eid Al-Adha. It is worth noting that the academic calendar across all educational departments, including the four exceptions, will remain consistent in terms of school breaks throughout the year, including the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

The sole exception to this uniformity is the Eid Al-Adha holiday. In all other departments, the holiday spans from the first day of Dhul Hijjah to the sixteenth day of the same month. However, in the departments of Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif, the Eid Al-Adha holiday extends from Dhul Qada 23 to Dhul Hijjah 16, taking into account the work requirements and unique circumstances of the Hajj season.
