ADNOC Gas Unveils $8.2 Billion Expansion Push

ADNOC Gas, a division of the Emirati energy giant, has announced plans to invest over $8.2 billion in expanding its Rich Gas Development project. The ambitious expansion aims to achieve a 60% increase in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization by 2030. The investment will be directed towards several gas production facilities, including the Habshah gas project, the UAE's largest gas processing facility, and the Ruwais LNG project.

A significant portion of the funds, $3.9 billion, will be allocated to constructing a new gas processing train at Habshah, while $4.3 billion will be invested in a new natural gas liquids fractionation unit at Ruwais LNG. These investments come after a previous $5 billion commitment to the project. The Ruwais LNG project, set to commence operations by late 2028, will more than double ADNOC Gas's current LNG capacity, reaching approximately 15 million tons per year.

The facility will employ artificial intelligence and advanced technologies to enhance safety, efficiency, and emissions performance. ADNOC Gas CEO Fatema Al Nuaimi emphasized that this expansion marks a critical juncture for the company, as it accelerates one of the world's most substantial gas-processing growth programs and raises its ambition to 60% EBITDA growth by 2030.

The strategic investments will significantly increase the company's natural gas processing and export capabilities, generate long-term value for shareholders, and position ADNOC Gas as a pivotal player in the UAE's energy landscape.
