About 15km of inner roads completed for traffic diversion ahead of Suame Interchange construction – Urban Roads D-G

The Director-General of the Department of Urban Roads, James Oduro Amoo-Gottfied, has revealed that approximately 15 kilometres of inner roads in the Suame and surrounding regions have been successfully completed to enable traffic diversion prior to the construction of the Suame Interchange. While some of these roads are not yet fully finished, the already completed ones will help reduce traffic congestion and provide alternative routes as the interchange progresses.

During a meeting with traders prior to the start of the project's first phase, Ing. Amoo-Gottried urged those in the right-of-way to vacate voluntarily to prevent delays. He also addressed those not in the right-of-way but affected by road construction markings, stating that the Assembly is working on compensating them. The Director-General appealed to residents, traders, and other stakeholders to support the project, emphasizing the crucial role of their cooperation in ensuring the timely completion of the interchange.

Some stakeholders attending the meeting expressed readiness to support the project and vacate their areas to facilitate development. However, others appealed for alternative spaces to continue their businesses after vacating the affected areas, highlighting the need for such accommodations to make relocation and cooperation with the project easier.
