2027: Monarchy better than APC – Salihu Lukman

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman Salihu Lukman has asserted that a monarchical system of government is superior to the current state of affairs within the ruling party. In an interview on Trust TV, Lukman, who recently switched to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and subsequently suspended his membership, criticized the APC for its lack of democratic functioning.

He argued that the party is overconfident due to the opposition's inability to unite effectively. Lukman expressed his belief that President Bola Tinubu and the APC were committed democrats in 2023, but now, he considers certain monarchies to be better suited to lead. He highlighted the absence of structural democracy within the APC, questioning the frequency of NEC meetings, which should occur every three months as per the party's constitution.

Furthermore, Lukman pointed out that other essential organs of the party are not functioning either. He concluded by stating that for the APC to awaken and start functioning ethically, it needs to be challenged.
