20 jobs to be created by ClassCover’s €3m investment and Irish expansion

ClassCover, an Australian platform facilitating substitute teacher and special needs assistant (SNA) bookings, is set to invest €3 million and expand into the Irish market. This investment will generate 20 new jobs over the next three years, with positions spanning sales, marketing, partnerships, and customer support. The company aspires to onboard 2,000 schools, constituting nearly half of Ireland's total, as users within the same timeframe.

ClassCover, founded in 2011 and based in Sydney, aims to alleviate teacher shortages and schedule disruptions by offering a real-time booking system. Ireland's demand for such a streamlined booking system is reportedly on the rise, as schools currently rely on inefficient methods like manual phone calls or social media messaging apps to secure cover.

The company's CEO, Ben Grozier, emphasized that the expansion into Ireland is a natural fit due to the shared bond between Ireland and Australia. A pilot programme in Dublin, fine-tuned for the Irish market through extensive collaboration with educators, is scheduled to launch in late August. Grozier highlighted that while the platform cannot resolve the teacher supply crisis alone, it ensures that available substitutes and SNAs can be easily identified by schools in need.

This strategic move marks a significant milestone for ClassCover as it broadens its international presence and strengthens its position in a country renowned for its top-tier education system.
