You don’t need money to make impact — Emmanuel Anabueze

Emmanuel Anabueze, the founder of the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation and the Nigerian Humanitarian Awards, has emphasized the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders to address Nigeria's humanitarian challenges. Despite many Nigerians making significant humanitarian contributions, the country's growing social issues necessitate collective action and greater recognition for those driving change.

Anabueze highlighted that numerous humanitarian actors exist in Nigeria, but the scale of problems demands stronger collaboration among government, private sector entities, civil society organizations, and individuals. He stressed that sustainable development requires this unified effort.

The Nigerian Humanitarian Awards, established by Anabueze, aim to celebrate individuals and organizations transforming lives through service rather than rewarding popularity. The foundation prioritizes evidence of humanitarian work, consistency, integrity, and the number of lives positively affected.

Founded to bridge gaps in collaboration, visibility, and recognition within Nigeria's humanitarian sector, the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation focuses on youth empowerment, education, entrepreneurship, women, and children. The organization has initiated empowerment programmes, educational initiatives, humanitarian outreaches, and youth development conferences.

Anabueze identified funding and public trust as significant challenges for nonprofit organizations. However, HAOF emphasizes transparency by documenting activities, verifying beneficiaries, and partnering with credible organizations.

The humanitarian advocate urged young Nigerians not to wait for wealth to make a difference. He advised that impact can be made through volunteering time, sharing knowledge, mentoring others, organizing communities, and simply showing up for those in need. Anabueze urged Nigerians to embrace compassion, collaboration, and service to humanity for greater progress in the country.
