Wike Mocks Bode George, Says He Has No Electoral Value

Chuks Okocha in Abuja The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George, as a failed politician who has not secured any electoral victories for the party in Lagos State since 1999. Wike's remarks were made in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, and highlighted George's ongoing frustration with the PDP leadership.

The minister's comments come after George attempted to become the PDP National Chairman, despite being aware of his poor electoral record. Wike stated that George was prevented from securing the position because it was South-South's turn, and since then, he has continued to express anger over the matter. During a visit to George's residence in Abuja, Wike described the politician's inability to deliver electoral wins for the PDP in Lagos State.

He argued that leadership of a political party should be based on the ability to win elections, a point he made clear by highlighting George's failure to win even his own polling unit in Lagos Island in the 2019 and 2023 elections.
