Wike-Fubara crisis was PDP affair, not Ijaw struggle — Ex-IYC president

Ex-IYC President Udengs Eradiri has stated that the political dispute between Nyesom Wike and Siminalayi Fubara was an internal matter of the PDP and not an Ijaw struggle. Eradiri expressed relief over Fubara's return to the political fold but warned of the challenges in mending the rift. He criticized politicians for attempting to politicize the dispute, which he said had damaged relationships between the Ijaw and other ethnic groups in Rivers State.

Eradiri dismissed claims that Fubara's election was a collective decision of the Ijaw people, pointing out that Wike did not seek their input. He also dismissed allegations that Fubara was an enemy of the Ijaw, citing Wike's previous support for the ethnic group. Eradiri urged the Ijaw to carefully consider the political consequences of the crisis and to build alliances with other ethnicities for a better political future.
