Ukrainian-made ballistic missiles could hit Russia in the fall, Zelensky says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that ballistic missiles developed by Ukrainian company Fire Point could potentially reach Russia in the fall. The FP7 missile, currently under certification by the Ukrainian defense ministry, is expected to be operational within two to three months. Zelensky acknowledged that some components of these missiles, like their Russian counterparts, are sourced from external countries.

Additionally, a modified version of the FP7 is being developed with European partners for anti-ballistic missile defense under the Freya program. Ukraine's FP7 missile system is primarily renowned for its drone capabilities, namely the FP-1 and FP-2 models, which have been pivotal in the ongoing conflict. However, the company has faced multiple controversies, including allegations of corruption during the Ukrainian war.

These claims have sparked discussions about potential preferential treatment in state contracts. While Fire Point denies any connection to the company's alleged ties to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's associate, Timur Mindich, the company remains under scrutiny.
