‘스파이더맨’ ‘오디세이’ 피했더니…한국 영화들, 추석 연휴에 치킨게임 할리우드 블록버스터 영화 ‘스파이더맨: 노 웨이 홈’과 일본 애니메이션 영화 ‘극장판 귀멸의 칼날: 무한대결전편’이 추석 연휴를 겨냥해 한국 극장가에 출격한다. 한국 영화계는 일찌감치 추석 연휴 개봉을 포기했다. 이에 따라 극장가 최대 성수기인 추석 연휴 한국 영화들의 성적에 관심이 쏠린다. 영화계에 따르면 오는 15일 개봉하는 ‘스파이더맨: 노 웨이 홈’은 추석 연휴 기간인 22일까지 상영한다. 이어 24일부터 일본 애니메이션 영화 ‘극장판 귀멸의 칼날: 무한대결전편’이 상영된다. 두 작품은 각각 개봉 당일 2만5000명, 1만5000명가량의 관객을 동원할 것이라는 예측이 나온다. 반면 한국 영화는 추석 연휴 개봉을 한사히 피했다. 그동안 추석 연휴에는 한국 영화를 보러온다는 게 영화계의 오랜 불문율이었다. 하지만 올해는 할리우드 블록버스터와 일본 애니메이션이 연휴를 노리고 출격하면서 한국 영화는 고전을 면치 못할 것이라는 우려가 나온다. 실제 한국 영화가 추석 연휴에 직격탄을 맞았다. 지난해 추석 연휴에 개봉한 ‘오징어 게임’과 ‘극장판 소녀전선: 미확인 이벤트’가 코로나19 팬데믹에도 불구하고 각각 400만, 70만 관객을 동원하며 흥행에 성공했다. 하지만 올해는 분위기가 다르다. 영화 ‘블랙: 저주받은 성녀’와 ‘헤어질 결심’ 등은 추석 연휴를 피해서 개봉을 결정했다. ‘블랙: 저주받은 성녀’는 오는 29일, ‘헤어질 결심’은 다음 달 6일 개봉한다. 영화 ‘블랙: 저주받은 성녀’를 제작한 김 대표는 “‘블랙: 저주받은 성녀’는 15일부터 시작하는 추석 연휴에 피해서 29일 개봉을 결정했다”며 “‘스파이더맨’, ‘귀멸의 칼날’ 등 쟁쟁한 작품들이 연휴에 개봉하기에, 조금이라도 피해보자는 생각으로 개봉일을 결정했다”고 말했다. 그러면서 “현재 극장가 상황이 좋지 않은 상황에서 한국 영화가 선제적으로 양보한 것”이라고 덧붙였다.

The nation's second space center will be built on either Jeju Island or in South Jeolla Province and Gwangju City, as these two areas were the only ones to submit bids for the project. The Ministry of Science and Technology said on September 12 that it had received bids from the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the South Jeolla Province and Gwangju Metropolitan City consortium. The ministry will review the bids and make a final decision on the location by October. The second space center is designed to serve as a backup to the existing Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, and to support the development of local space industries. The government plans to invest 470 billion won (US$377 million) in the project by 2028.
