‘Tope Osoba died at police station’ — fiancé claims she was a drug addict

Temitope Osoba's fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has disputed reports that the late Nollywood actress died at a police station in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. Onadeko claimed that he was contacted by an unidentified person around midnight, who informed him of Osoba's death in a police station. He stated that Osoba had visited a Mrs Kehinde Osoba, who also runs a church, before her death.

The hairdresser at Mrs Kehinde Osoba's residence accompanied Osoba to the appointment. Onadeko dismissed the notion that Osoba's death was due to breast cancer complications, stating that she had undergone surgery for the illness. He also denied that he had access to the money donated for her surgery or used it to build his church.

Furthermore, Onadeko refuted claims that Osoba was prevented from driving her car and had a smoking habit. He revealed that Osoba had left the church three weeks before her death and that he contacted one of her uncles, Taiwo, after learning of her demise. Osoba's funeral is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
