Tavleen Singh writes: An ill wind is blowing, but no sign yet this will benefit opposition

If I were a young Indian, I would join the Cockroach Janta Party. Despite once being a Modi supporter, my disillusionment with his rule led me to support the protesters. The primary issue that drove me to oppose Modi was the lack of investment in human capital. The poor condition of government schools across India, including children having to cross rivers to reach school or attend classes without basic amenities, has fueled this discontent.

Despite Modi's claims of reducing poverty, millions still live in poverty and squalor. The opposition parties, particularly those part of the INDIA bloc, struggle with privilege and private company-like structures, making it challenging for them to capitalize on this situation. However, the recent uproar from young people, who are unafraid to voice their dissatisfaction, offers a glimmer of hope.

If these young individuals continue to push for change, it may benefit the opposition parties in the upcoming elections.
