‘Students will be able to seek help at 11pm’: Bihar CM promises reforms in education

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary of Bihar announced a series of educational reforms at a workshop-cum-chintan camp, promising students that they would be able to seek help from teachers even at 11 pm. The reforms also include the formation of two state-level committees focused on education quality and examination reforms, as well as special cooperation camps where ministers, MPs, MLAs, and officials will interact directly with students.

The government aims to use technology and AI to improve assessments and strengthen the examination system to prevent young people from losing confidence in it. A provision under the Goonda Act allows jail time of up to one year for individuals involved in examination-related offenses. To address student grievances, special cooperation camps will be organized, with unresolved issues to be handled at monthly CM-level meetings.

The government will also establish directorates for student welfare and expand its model-school programme, aiming to increase the number of model schools to 1,001. Choudhary emphasized the importance of maintaining Bihar's cultural and linguistic heritage while incorporating computer education and English from an early stage.
