The recent trial of high-ranking military officials involved in the 2024 coup attempt at Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Division 417 continues to draw intense public attention. During the trial, it was revealed that some of the charged officials dismissed the special investigation team's findings, with some even claiming that martial law was justified.

One of the officials, Kim Yoo-hyun, a former Ministry of Defense official, was questioned by the prosecution about the circumstances of the coup. Kim responded, "Are you questioning our investigators? They are from North Korea." Another official, Park Gwang-hyun, also known as General Park, defended martial law, stating, "It is legitimate.
