SFI demands probe into fake certificates

The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) State committee has called for a probe into allegations that 37 junior lecturers in the Intermediate Education Department obtained their positions using counterfeit qualification certificates. The organization urged the immediate verification of all lecturers' credentials and imposed strict legal consequences on those found to be in violation.

Observations emerged regarding the validity of the credentials of the 360 lecturers whose certificates were scrutinized, leading to notices being issued to the affected individuals requesting clarification. The SFI deemed this situation a significant irregularity within the system. Furthermore, the committee demanded a comprehensive investigation into the process through which these suspected fake certificates were authenticated during the recruitment process, and advocated for the implementation of digital verification methods, especially for certificates issued by universities and institutions in other states.
