Sanwo-Olu inspects vandalised Lagos-Badagry Bridge, threatens action

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu toured the vandalized section of the bridge on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area on Saturday. He confirmed that the structural integrity of the facility remained unaffected despite the damage caused by vandals who removed fittings and excavated parts of the structure.

Sanwo-Olu expressed outrage over the desecration of public infrastructure, vowing that the perpetrators, regardless of their social standing, would face legal consequences. He emphasized the government's commitment to preserving public assets amidst the significant investments being made in road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

The governor also addressed incidents of vandalism in Festac Town, urging residents to report suspicious activities promptly to security agencies. Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the commendable efforts of local law enforcement and community initiatives in responding swiftly to the incident. He highlighted ongoing progress in restoring and improving the Lagos-Badagry Expressway corridor, assuring residents that the administration would continue to safeguard public facilities and ensure a safer environment for commuters and traders.
