Qatari Diar launches Phase 1 of $29.7bn Alam Al Roum development in Egypt

Qatari Diar has officially launched the first phase of its ambitious $29.7bn Alam Al Roum development project on Egypt's north coast. The project, one of the Mediterranean's largest integrated urban and tourism destinations, represents a significant investment and aims to create over 250,000 jobs upon completion. Egyptian Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa el-Menshawy attended the launch, which was held during a site visit.

The first phase, covering 4 square kilometres, will feature a 2-kilometre beachfront, 195,000 square metres of swimmable artificial lagoons, 850,000 square metres of swimmable lagoons, and an international marina with up to 370 yacht berths. The project, expected to generate approximately 30,000 jobs, is set to be fully operational by 2030, further cementing its position as a premier coastal city.
