Probe after man's body found in burning car in Co Armagh

The body of a man was discovered inside a burning car in the Harford Street area of Portadown, Co Armagh, last night, according to the PSNI. The fire was reported at around 10pm and local firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. Ammunition technical officers were also dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident. The car sustained significant damage, with several windows shattered and scorch marks observed on a neighboring property.

Police confirmed the man had been pronounced deceased at the scene and a post-mortem examination would be conducted to determine the cause of death. The circumstances surrounding the man's death are still under investigation, and inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire. Police appealed to anyone who witnessed the event to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation, and urged residents to avoid speculation on social media, as any such speculation could cause further distress to the deceased's family.
