Nashik: Leaking Roofs, Water Shortage Plague Pardevi ZP School; Villagers Demand Urgent Action

Nashik residents are demanding urgent action after conditions at Pardevi Gavatil Zilla Parishad primary school in Igatpuri taluka were revealed. The school faces multiple issues, including a severe shortage of water, leaking roofs, and lack of proper facilities for students. Despite the monsoon season, students lack access to drinking water, nutritious food, and medicines, raising concerns about their health and safety.

According to villagers, class sizes have reached alarming levels, with 60 to 70 students sharing a single classroom. This overcrowding not only endangers students' health but also compromises the quality of education. The school's roofs have been damaged by torrential rains, leaving students sitting in water and exposed to unsafe conditions.

The lack of proper roofing and insufficient space further exacerbates the problem, making it difficult for students to receive nutritious meals and maintain a safe learning environment. During heavy rains, dampness from leaking roofs creates an ideal breeding ground for infections due to fungal growth in classrooms.

Villagers fear that the school's deteriorating infrastructure poses a significant risk, questioning the accountability for potential accidents. They have called upon the Rural School Education Department to swiftly approve the opening of new classes, repair the damaged roofs, and implement measures to ensure the safety and quality of education for the students. Parents and villagers urge the administration to take immediate action to address these pressing concerns.
