Municipalities Ministry launches contractor qualification service via Balady Aamal platform

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in Saudi Arabia has unveiled a new contractor qualification service on the Balady Aamal platform. This initiative aims to streamline the qualification process for contracting firms in the municipal sector, ensuring they meet unified standards and are ready to undertake municipal projects.

The service covers the entire qualification journey, from fulfilling regulatory and technical requirements to undergoing evaluation based on quality and operational readiness benchmarks. Successful firms will receive accreditation for specific municipal services and fields.

To qualify, firms must possess a valid commercial registration and municipal license, hold a classification certificate, have qualified technical staff, and provide all necessary data and documents through the Balady Aamal platform.

The ministry has granted contracting firms a corrective grace period until June 30, 2027, to complete their qualification and accreditation. This period encourages firms to swiftly finalize the required procedures and benefit from the service.

By adopting a standardized evaluation process, the ministry aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of service providers while ensuring they meet the technical and professional requirements for executing municipal works. The electronic nature of the Balady Aamal platform enables firms to manage their qualification status, upload necessary documents, and monitor progress until accreditation is granted.
