Mudavadi urges UDA grassroots to reject division ahead of 2027

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) grassroots leaders in Busia County to avoid political divisions and promote national unity as the 2027 General Election approaches. During a meeting with over 5,000 UDA members in Butula, Mudavadi emphasized that grassroots engagement should foster inclusion, constitutional governance, and economic stability.

Mudavadi stressed that national unity is vital for Kenya's development and highlighted the Kenya Kwanza administration's collaboration with the ODM party under the Broad-Based Government. He urged Kenyans to prioritize shared prosperity over partisan interests, stating that political parties must place the nation's interests above their own.

The Prime Minister also received suggestions from community groups concerning representation, administrative recognition, and affirmative action, emphasizing that these concerns should lead to government action and improved opportunities for residents. As political parties ramp up their activities ahead of the 2027 polls, Western Kenya is becoming a focal point for political mobilisation.

Mudavadi's call for unity comes amid growing political activity by opposition leaders in the region, as parties vie for support ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
