Moses Kuria admits govt spent Ksh10B on projects in Ol Kalou

Former senior economic advisor to President William Ruto, Moses Kuria, admitted on Sunday that the government spent over Ksh10 billion on development projects in Ol Kalou, part of ongoing national programs. Kuria clarified that no new budget was allocated specifically for Ol Kalou, but highlighted that the area had received investments exceeding KSh10 billion.

He dismissed accusations of excessive development, asking, "Is there such a thing as too much development?" Kuria acknowledged learning from the residents of Ol Kalou, including the importance of not forcing development on unwilling parties. He expressed regret for the residents, accusing unspecified individuals of swaying public opinion against government projects.

Despite the political shift, Kuria vowed to complete all ongoing projects regardless of the election outcome. He faced criticism for the removal of signage from an ongoing road project following Sammy Waweru's electoral victory, which allegedly deterred contractors due to perceived insecurity. Kuria maintained that prioritizing development was the correct approach, stating that he was in charge of coordinating projects for Ol Kalou and was proud of his efforts.

This statement comes amid political discussions on development project allocation in Nyandarua County and the role of national officials in local development.
