Man held after allegedly assaulting two men with baseball bat in Bengaluru’s AECS Layout

The HAL police arrested a private company employee, identified as Arun, on Friday for allegedly assaulting two men with a baseball bat in Bengaluru's AECS Layout. The incident occurred on August 6, following a minor altercation near the ice cream parlour in Block A. According to the FIR, victims Sandeep Kumar and Rohith, who were waiting for a friend for a morning walk, were approached by Arun in his SUV.

Without prior acquaintance, Arun asked them if they were "terrorists", to which Rohith responded that they were Indian citizens. Arun then threatened the duo, demanded their identity cards and became angry when questioned about his authority. The victims questioned Arun's authority, leading to an assault where Arun allegedly abused them and struck them with a baseball bat from his car.

Rohith attempted to record the incident on his phone, but Arun allegedly damaged it with the bat. The police registered a case under various sections, citing Arun's intoxication and lack of provocation.
