Luke Rockhold vs. Joe Pyfer set for RAF 13

Luke Rockhold and Joe Pyfer will face off in a catchweight wrestling bout at the upcoming RAF 13 event on September 19th at the Watsco Center in Miami, Florida. The announcement of the matchup was made by Real American Freestyle on Sunday.

Although neither fighter has a long history in wrestling, Joe Pyfer brings a strong middleweight division presence to the championship. The 29-year-old has an impressive four-fight winning streak, recently securing a TKO victory over Israel Adesanya in March. Pyfer's UFC journey began through Dana White's Contender Series in 2022, where he boasts a 7-1 record with five Performance of the Night bonuses under his belt.

On the other hand, Luke Rockhold, now 41 years old, returns to the RAF mats with the goal of clinching his first victory. The former UFC middleweight champion made his debut at RAF in January, suffering a technical fall loss to Colby Covington. Since leaving the UFC in 2022, Rockhold has ventured into various combat sports, including bareknuckle boxing, boxing, Karate Combat, and jiu-jitsu, demonstrating his versatility and adaptability in the sport.
