Liu ramal BN-PN bercerai PRU16 saingan terbuka

Former DAP leader Ronnie Liu, now affiliated with Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM), predicts that the alliance between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) will not last until the 16th General Election (PRU16). Liu believes the initial understanding between the two blocs during the recent State Legislative Assembly elections in Negeri Sembilan was tactical, driven by the desire to secure as many seats as possible.

He noted the early signs of conflict between BN and PH (Pakatan Harapan) in the lead-up to the Melaka State Legislative Assembly elections. Liu said, "You'll soon see the fragmentation between BN and PH. They will divorce and then each will carry on with their own interests." He expects a more open contest between the parties in PRU16.

Under the current arrangement, BN remains the main partner in the federal coalition Pakatan Harapan (PH), while PN forms the largest opposition bloc. After the next election, Parlimen will be split with PH winning 82 seats, followed by PN with 74 and BN with 30. Last week, PBM President Larry Sng predicted that BN-PN could control all seats on the peninsula to form the central government in PRU16 if their alliance remains intact.

PBM can perform better than Muda and Bersatu, and even outperform other small parties in upcoming elections, Sng believes. He is confident PBM can deliver better results than Bersatu, Muda, and other small parties. Former PKR Sarawak chief Julau said PBM's support base in Borneo remains solid under his leadership and as the party's only MP.

However, he acknowledged that building a presence on the peninsula will take time. Sng stated that PBM has not decided whether to enter PRN on the peninsula, but the party is open to exploring potential alliances or partnerships with other blocs, including in PRU16. He also predicted that PRU16 will only be held after Malaysia hosts the SEA Games, scheduled from September 18 to 29 next year.
