Jharkhand to set up fast-track courts, panel headed by ex-judge; student protesters hold on to CBI probe demand

Jharkhand students have been protesting alleged exam irregularities for the 16th day, demanding a CBI probe into the JSSC-CGL exam. The state government has set up a panel headed by an ex-judge to recommend examination reforms and file a charge sheet within 90 days. However, the government is not willing to accept the demand for a CBI probe, as the exam was conducted under the monitoring of the High Court and Supreme Court.

The government has agreed to most of the students' demands, including the cancellation of the 14th JPSC exam. The protesting students remain firm on their demand for a CBI probe, with student leader Ravindra Paswan stating that they will continue their march to the Jharkhand assembly on August 10 if their demands are not met.
