In first reaction after resignation, Dharmendra Pradhan says ‘some people misled Gen Z protesters’

Dharmendra Pradhan, the former Education Minister, expressed his thoughts on his resignation two weeks after he stepped down. In his first public reaction, he addressed the protests surrounding the NEET paper leak issue and claimed that certain individuals misled Gen Z protesters. Pradhan resigned on July 25 after weeks of demonstrations led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar.

He was untroubled by the incident since he had no personal grievances. In his address at an event in Bhubaneswar, Pradhan emphasized that India's future lies with its youth, stating that two crore children are born in the country annually and that they possess aspirations and have the potential to make India a global leader. Despite not finding the post significant, he complied with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's request and submitted his resignation from the Union Council of Ministers.

Pradhan's resignation was not initially on the government's agenda, but the escalating protests, disruption in Parliament, and the government's inability to satisfy the protesters led to his departure. Although the government had offered a portfolio change as a compromise, protesters insisted that Education Minister Pradhan must resign.
