Onadeko had previously seen Osoba in Yoruba-language movies and was fond of her work.

He recounted their first meeting, saying, "It was her younger sister that told me that her elder sister, Temitope, wanted me to pray for her." After praying for her, Osoba confided in him about her problems. The prophet mentioned that after three days, Osoba returned and they became friends. Their friendship later evolved into a romantic relationship when Osoba expressed her desire to marry him.

Osoba, who revealed himself as a divorcee, also spoke about Osoba's alleged struggles with drug addiction. He admitted that he did not know about it when they started dating and that he never took her to rehab due to financial constraints. The prophet did not disclose any details about Osoba's previous relationships before they became lovers.
