Hogh’s hattrick inspires Celtic rout, Rangers lose to Hibs

Kasper Hogh scored a hat-trick for Celtic against Kilmarnock, helping the Scottish champions secure a 5-1 victory on Sunday. This was Hogh's first goals for Celtic and marked the team's second straight league win at the start of the season. Celtic went 3-0 ahead before half-time, thanks to Hogh's treble, which was his first since joining the Glasgow giants from Bodo/Glimt for £11 million.

Manager Martin O'Neill missed the game after a small procedure in hospital. Hogh was thrilled with the team's performance, emphasizing that it was a team effort. Kilmarnock managed to pull one back, but Celtic maintained control with a late goal from substitute Luke McCowan. Meanwhile, Rangers suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Hibernian, leaving their new manager Derek McInnes still without a win since taking over.

The loss was compounded by striker Youssef Chermiti being carried off on a stretcher. Hibs took the lead in the 11th minute through a penalty and extended their lead to 2-0 before half-time, when Chermiti suffered an injury. Rangers equalized five minutes from time, but substitute Callum Wright's goal in the third minute of added time secured the win for Hibs.

Hearts, last season's runners-up, also delivered for Wouter Vrancken by winning 4-0 at Dundee United, their first win as manager after a series of early losses.
