Govt support for Tamil schools will continue, says Gobind

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo has affirmed that the Malaysian government will persist in supporting Tamil schools (SJKT) to ensure every child receives the best education. In a Facebook post, the minister emphasized that SJKTs are not just educational institutions, but also vital in nurturing culture and identity among students.

Deo stated that every child deserves the chance to develop their potential and contribute to building a prosperous Malaysia.

From 2023 to 2026, the government has allocated RM237.48 million for maintenance, upgrades, and the construction of new facilities in Tamil schools across the country, demonstrating its commitment to the Indian community's well-being and providing the best educational opportunities throughout the schooling period. Despite the country's ongoing economic challenges, the government remains dedicated to supporting the development of Tamil schools and ensuring a conducive learning environment for the younger generation. Deo reiterated his commitment to serving the people and continuing to support the Tamil community.
