Bus forced to brake abruptly to avoid colliding with car travelling against traffic in Hougang, 1 sent to hospital

A SBS Transit bus was forced to slam on its brakes in Hougang to prevent a head-on collision with an oncoming car, resulting in minor injuries to three passengers, one of whom was taken to the hospital. The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 am on August 2nd at the junction of Hougang Avenue 9 and Hougang Avenue 4. Bus number 329 was preparing to make a right turn when the car, traveling in the opposite direction, unexpectedly crossed into the bus's path.

The bus driver promptly engaged the emergency brakes to avert a collision. Despite the driver's swift action, three passengers suffered injuries. One passenger was airlifted to Sengkang General Hospital for outpatient treatment, while the other two opted not to seek hospital care. The scene was attended to by the Singapore Civil Defence Force, which deployed an ambulance and a small gathering of bystanders. The remaining passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their journeys.
