Brahmin association seeks representation in Cabinet, boards and corporations

On Saturday, the Kalaburagi Zilla Brahmin Sangha held a protest in the city to demand enhanced representation for the Brahmin community within the State Cabinet and various government corporations and boards. Community leaders and members convened outside the Deputy Commissioner's office to express their frustration over the lack of representation for the community in the D.K.

District president Pandurang Deshmukh and vice-president Shyamacharya Baichibal called upon the State government to ensure fair political representation for the Brahmin community, asserting that their contributions to the state's development and various fields should be acknowledged by granting them a proportionate share in the Cabinet.

The protesters also proposed the inclusion of senior Congress leaders Dinesh Gundu Rao and R.V. Deshpande in the State Cabinet. They delivered a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar via the Deputy Commissioner, urging the government to take their concerns seriously and make a prompt decision. The sangha leaders threatened to maintain their agitation until the Brahmin community received equal and dignified representation.
