Bae Ji-hwan returns to MLB with Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers welcomed back Bae Ji-hwan to the Major League Baseball (MLB) lineup on Sunday, just five days after releasing him from their affiliate team, the Syracuse Mets. The veteran infielder made his debut for the Brewers in a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Bae Ji-hwan's return to the majors came swiftly after his initial outing for the Brewers. He entered the game as a defensive replacement at second base in the top of the seventh inning, with starting pitcher Brice Turang shifting from second to shortstop. Bae's first plate appearance of the game was a bunt single in the bottom of the seventh, marking his first major league hit since May 2025.

He continued to contribute to the team's offense with a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the ninth, though it did not result in additional runs scored. The Brewers ultimately secured the win in the bottom of the tenth inning.
