At Bengal helm, BJP grapples with ‘TMC culture’, cracks down on 325 workers over extortion charges

Three months after winning West Bengal's Assembly elections, the BJP faces allegations of corruption and extortion against some of its leaders and workers. The party recently suspended around 25 activists and issued show-cause notices to over 300 workers across the state for extortion, corruption, and anti-party activities. Senior BJP leaders claim that while some of their own members are guilty, a number of former Trinamool Congress (TMC) activists have joined the BJP and are continuing such practices.

The BJP's zero-tolerance policy will be enforced, with strict disciplinary action for those found guilty.
