Arcos de las Salinas, el pueblo turolense que teme desbordarse de turistas por el eclipse: “Vamos a morir de éxito”

In the small town of Arcos de las Salinas, located in southern Teruel, residents are bracing for an influx of tourists due to the upcoming solar eclipse on August 12th. The only bar in town, which serves local beer, is bustling with patrons and visitors alike, all aware of the astronomical event that is to come. Galáctica, the leading astronomy outreach center in Europe, is expecting 1,000 spectators for the event.

However, only a select few are aware that the European Space Agency's (ESA) Astronomical Observatory in Javalambre will be broadcasting the eclipse to the rest of the world.

Despite the anticipation, no one, including the Aragonese Government, knows exactly how many visitors the town will attract for this celestial phenomenon. The clarity of the night sky in the region is renowned, making it an ideal location for stargazing. The town remains in suspense until the date of the eclipse itself.
