Anwar visits Fadillah, Ismail Sabri at IJN

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visited deputy leader Fadillah Yusof and former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob at the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Wednesday.

Fadillah was recovering from heart bypass surgery the previous week, and his doctors advised him to rest more. On the other hand, Ismail had a pacemaker implantation procedure on Friday to address an irregular heartbeat. He required further observation at IJN.

Wan Azizah, Anwar's wife, expressed hope for their swift recoveries and smooth treatment progress, praying they would regain the health and strength to continue serving their nation. The couple shared these sentiments on a Facebook post.

Ismail Sabri was admitted to IJN on Thursday due to heart issues while testifying before the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission regarding the financial aspects of the Keluarga Malaysia program in 2021-2022. He had also been admitted there about two weeks ago following a fall, during which his heart reportedly stopped for a brief period.

Ismail was originally scheduled to appear in Kuala Lumpur sessions court on Friday, but the hearing was postponed owing to his health condition.
