Amin Adam congratulates Agalga, pledges constructive Minority engagement

Former Finance Minister and Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, extended his congratulations to James Agalga on his recent appointment as the new Majority Leader. Addressing Agalga through a Facebook post on August 9, Dr Amin Adam expressed confidence in his ability to effectively lead the Majority caucus, highlighting the MP's extensive experience in both Parliament and government as a testament to his preparedness for the role.

Describing Agalga as a "fine intellectual" and "formidable debater," Dr Amin Adam emphasized the beneficial qualities Agalga would bring to the parliamentary discourse. The Minority Leader reaffirmed the Minority's dedication to upholding its constitutional responsibilities, including scrutinizing the government's actions, safeguarding democratic values, and advocating for the interests of Ghanaians.

However, he also expressed optimism that the new Majority leadership would engage in constructive dialogue and consensus-building on matters of national importance, asserting that the collaborative efforts of both the Majority and Minority would serve the greater good of the nation. Agalga's selection as Majority Leader came in the wake of recent shifts in the leadership structure of the Majority caucus within Parliament.
