Lionel Messi's father and longtime agent, Jorge Messi, has died at the age of 68. The Argentine football legend paid tribute to his "tireless" and "unconditional" father on social media. Messi, 35, wrote on Instagram: "We are all very sad, but I know that you are in a good place and that you are free now." The family announced earlier that Jorge Messi had been hospitalised in the city of Rosario. The cause of his death has not been confirmed. Messi began his career at Newell's Old Boys in Rosario before moving to Barcelona at the age of 13, where he won numerous titles, including six Ballon d'Or awards.
