2027: Rainbow Coalition panel begins talks with Fubara, allies

The Rainbow Coalition reconciliation committee, chaired by Magnus Abe, has officially begun discussions with Siminalayi Fubara and his supporters, aiming to reconcile the governor with coalition members. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, announced the meeting earlier this month, stating that Fubara had already provided a date for the talks.

Present at the initial meeting held at Government House in Port Harcourt were Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, and representative Kelechi Nwogu. Fubara's camp was represented by former Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Tamunosiki Gogo-Jaja. Other notable attendees included Kingsley Chinda, the APC governorship candidate for 2027.

The committee comprises 13 members, with Abe presiding over the reconciliation process. Details of the meeting remain confidential, but it is believed to be limited to committee members selected for the reconciliation effort. Fubara recently expressed his support for APC candidate Chinda and encouraged his followers to join the Rainbow Coalition in backing Chinda for the 2027 general elections.
