12-year-old girl dies after Thailand school shooting, bringing death toll to at least 8

A 12-year-old schoolgirl succumbed to her injuries following a shooting at a high school in Nonthaburi province, outside Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday. This incident increased the death toll from the attack to at least eight people. The 14-year-old perpetrator opened fire at around 10 a.m. at Debsirin Nonthaburi School before allegedly taking his own life. He had also reportedly killed his two grandparents at their family home earlier that morning, according to officials.

The victim, a seventh-grader, succumbed to her wounds while in the hospital, as confirmed by the Health Ministry. At present, fourteen individuals remain hospitalized, with seven of them in critical condition, including several students aged between 12 and 14 years old. The Institute of Forensic Medicine has identified the victims as five school staff members, the accused shooter, and his grandparents.

Relatives of the deceased students have expressed their grief, and emergency workers have transported a coffin from the scene.
