The Al-Aqsa Mosque in east Jerusalem, a site of great religious significance to Muslims, Jews, and Christians, is at the center of a potential conflict. The foreign ministers of 10 countries, including the Arab League, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Malaysia, expressed their concerns about the situation.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque, also known as the Temple Mount, is considered the third-holiest site in Islam after Mecca and Medina. It is also the holiest site for Judaism and holds biblical significance for Christianity. The site's importance has been a flashpoint in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with both sides claiming control over it.

Recent reports suggest that the decades-old agreement, known as the status quo, has been changing. Muslim officials employed by Jordan have been prevented from entering the mosque, and more Jewish worshipers are being allowed to perform rituals. The Israeli government maintains that Jerusalem is open and accessible to worshippers of all faiths, but critics say this is not the case.
